Julie BLACKMON - Photographer
Influenced by Dutch and Flemish Renaissance painting, Julie Blackmon creates tableaux inspired by the everyday and her own experience. Her photos intrigue with their fleetingness. They blend the banal and fantasy, offering a quirky vision of childhood, by featuring instants of subtle seriousness.
« I am the oldest of nine children and now the mother of three. As an artist and as a mother, I believe life’s most poignant moments come from the ability to fuse fantasy and reality; to see the mythic amidst the chaos. » Domestic Vacations (2008), Julie Blackmon
